Hello Hive,
I am a seasoned educator that is looking to start a business that supports children and parents who are currently, or looking to be, home schooled/educated by providing remote alternative education programmes. I have worked with many online schools and as they are becoming more Ofsted/ DFE accredited they are becoming more streamlined, less flexible and stricter with things such as attendance. I am looking to open an online "school" but a much more alternative, flexible, sustainable and holistic approach to education. It will be project based, non testing and skills based so we are trying to get an idea of what kinds of things parents find difficult with education currently, what kinds of things you want your children to learn about and if you would be interested in alternative schooling platforms. Cost is always a factor and I am looking to team up with some charities that might have grants that support lower income families and create my own hardship fund. Your input on this is extremely valuable and I would love to know why you decided to home educate/school or why you are thinking of doing so. I would also love to find out what you think the benefits are, the barriers and what an alternative education programme might look like to you. If you wouldn't mind taking 5 minutes (only 8 questions!) to fill out this quick survey, I would really appreciate it. I can then use this data to ensure I am tailoring my business to suit your needs and hopefully solve some problems home educators are currently facing.
Thank you so much,
Amy
